IWSG: September 2019

It’s time again for the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Posts go up the first Wednesday of each month. Read more posts and/or join in here.

Q: If you could pick one place in the world to sit and write your next story, where would it be and why?

A: I really want to go to Japan and am making plans to visit next year. I think I’d love staying there for a few weeks to write. The utter difference in culture would, I think, make an interesting impact on my work. I’d enjoy absorbing the atmosphere and letting it permeate my writing.

    1. My oldest is going over in a month as a student ambassador to our sister city. He’ll live with a host family and spend a week in a Japanese school. We’re lucky being in San Francisco; the plane ride from here to Tokyo is about the same as to London.

    1. My aunt lived in Japan for a time in the 1950’s, and her art was inspired by their exquisite culture. Living for a time in Japan sounds like a perfect adventure for a writer. I hope you are able to go!

  1. Oh Japan would be wonderful! They have so many zen-like places and revere their gardens and nature. Good choice. I’m Gwen, your co-host this month stopping by from the IWSG 🙂
